Instructor training
Sanjuro instructor notes
“The turning point for me in my training was when I stopped comparing myself to others and simply concentrated on making small improvements to my own abilities every week.
It was this very small shift in attitude that enabled me to make big changes in what I could physically do, my attitude to myself and ultimately my belief that I could achieve more than I ever thought was possible for me when I started. For example becoming a martial art instructor. It is this focus on small improvements that is core to the teaching of Sanjuro.”

About Sanjuro gradings
All Sanjuro grades test to ensure that the individual has the required level of knowledge, understanding and proficiency required for the grade awarded within the Sanjuro training system. Unless you want to teach there is no need to take a Sanjuro grade to continue your development as there is no hierarchical system of knowledge and everyone trains the same way, to the best of their own abilities.
Sanjuro martial art instructors
Only level 4 – Red instructors or upwards are licenced to run a Sanjuro martial art class.
Sanjuro DanceCombat/SEN instructors
DanceCombat/SEN instructor grades only go up to level 3. After this instructors can continue their development via the continuing personal development workshops or from level 4 Sanjuro martial arts instructor grade and upwards.
Contact Glenn if you want want to know more about becoming a Sanjuro instructor and the various options currently available.
